That’s not the most difficult part. All it took was a few searches on Facebook to find a group made up of expats and locals whose help was invaluable in answering my questions.
Facebook also put me in touch with potential flat renters in the town I’d chosen as my first destination: Hua Hin, on the shores of the Gulf of Thailand.
Youtube is also an almost inexhaustible source of information. You can’t subscribe to all the channels, as some seem less relevant than others. I particularly liked Sabri’s video reports, which give an apparently objective and uncompromising picture of this country.
Update 2024: I realised that, in reality, these SabriThai videos only presented limited and rather racy aspects of the country. I’ve since unsubscribed.
