Chim Chum is a street food from Southeast Asia, popular especially in Thailand. It is traditionally prepared with chicken or pork and fresh herbs such as galangal, sweet basil, lemongrass and combava leaves, cooked in a small clay pot on a charcoal stove.

They can be found in all parties in particular. The clay pot is replaced by an aluminum baking dish, placed on a small gas stove. Place the meat in the middle on the domed part after melting a piece of lard.

Arrand meat and vegetables

In the ephemeral "restaurants" of hmu chum that are installed in local festivals, in general, we choose a formula corresponding to a certain amount of various meats. Here, we had formulas at 299 baths or 399 baths.

First of all, choose your formula.

For 2 "normal" eaters, a plate at 299 baths is enough.

For this price, we obviously also have a plate of vegetables and an egg, which will be beaten and put with the vegetables in the broth, around the meat.

The formula at 299 baths

We eat the hmu chum with chopsticks, accompanied by a spicy sauce (at will) in which we dip the pieces of meat once cooked.

Everything is ready, we savour
