During this first trip to Laos, I visited only 3 cities. And if I hardly hooked on Vientiane and enjoyed Vang Vieng for its sports and nature activities which makes it a pleasant destination for a few days, Luang Prabang imdoctely entered the Top 10 cities in the world in which I could enjoy living in the long term.
This city is particularly attractive. Its colonial architecture gives it a very romantic and very soothing aspect. We take great pleasure in visiting the old town in all directions, along the narrow and flowery alleys or the large more lively avenues, going from one river to another.
Many temples embellish these walks
The only downside is the extremely high level of pollution at this time of year. It is the end of the burning period and all the inhabitants are looking forward to the first rains that alone can dissipate this layer of mist that is extremely harmful to the lungs.
Like all the cities I have been able to visit so far in Asia, Luang Prabang sees one of its main streets turn into a pedestrian street at nightfall for a very lively night market.

A market all the more lively because at its end is an extremely busy Street Food square. Free tables become very difficult to find from 7 p.m. as everywhere in Laos. Food prices are very low and if the gastronomy is not as varied and as rich as in Thailand, we still eat very well.
The traffic in this part of Laos being rather fluid and quiet, because Laotians do not drive very fast, I enjoyed myself by renting a scooter two days in a row to get to two particularly interesting tourist sites:
The cave of Pak Sou

And the water falls of Kuangsi.
