Battambang is a very large city in northwestern Cambodia almost as large as Siem Reap, which is much more touristy since Siem Reap is the gateway to the temples of Angkor.
I really liked Battambang there is a very special atmosphere that reminded me of Chang Mai, the big city in the north of Thailand. It is a very quiet city with little traffic and where the population seems to take the time to live.
Holy, the owner of the Pomme hotel (the best youth hostel in Cambodia) says it is a unique city in the world.
It’s a place where I only spent two days and where I really want to come back to discover other aspects of the city that I didn’t have time to know but also simply to stroll through the streets.
I was lucky enough to be able to photograph young women who had just graduated, but also by visiting the surrounding temples I was able to take some interesting photos along the road.
I could have gone directly to Siem Reap because my time is short in Cambodia but I wanted to go through Battambang to make the boat trip from Battambang to Siem Reap and it is really a decision that I do not regret. It’s one of the most beautiful days I’ve spent during my trip
