This second day is dedicated to a more in-depth discovery of the Khao San Road neighbourhood.

I begin to visit the many temples that are all more beautiful than each other.

What is striking is that they are perfectly maintained, repainted, restored, a striking contrast with the decay of most of the houses and buildings in this very poor neighbourhood.

Today, I infiltrate the small streets, I discover huge flower markets. The amount of Thais who work in the manufacture of offerings for temples is incredible.

This day also gives me the opportunity to appreciate the sudden violence of the monsoon rain.

These children who have fun in a puddle while a few metres away, elegant students in matching costumes go wisely to class.

I am impressed by the number and size of schools, libraries, universities.

I finish at the beginning of the night by discovering the diversity of Bangkok with the Indian neighbourhood, separated from the Chinatown by one of the city’s many canals.
