In principle, applying for a visa is not very complicated. Simply go to the embassy’s website, complete a questionnaire and provide the requested documents.
Yes, but...
For a 3-month tourist visa, it’s simple. But for a one-year visa, in Thailand, the quantity and diversity of certificates to be provided is discouraging. And above all, it is very long to get all these elements. Here is the list:
Passport information page (must be valid for at least 18 months on the date of departure)
Official colour ID photo (Photo booth) less than 6 months old
Declaration Form well completed, dated and signed (Click here to download).
A medical certificate stating that you are in good health and that you do not have a contagious disease. All handwritten documents must be clearly legible.
An extract from the recent criminal record (less than 3 months)
Proof of residence in France (electricity bill, mobile phone, etc.)
Proof of resources: a bank balance of 24,000 euros per applicant (or 48,000 euros if it is a joint bank account) to be presented in the form of a recent bank certificate (less than 1 month).
Health insurance with a minimum coverage of US$100,000, expressly including COVID-19 treatment, valid from your arrival in Thailand covering 1 year from the date of your arrival in Thailand
A Foreign Insurance Certificate form covering one year, duly completed by your insurance, with the signature of an agent and an insurance stamp, will be mandatory. The minimum coverage amount 3,000,000 baht must mention: foreign_insurance_certificate
A photo of you carrying the information page of your passport.
The price of this non-immigrant visa OA: 175 euros.
It’s been 2 months since I started and I don’t have all the documents yet!!!
