Moving in Bangkok

There is a wide variety of ways to get around in this city. The most economical way, of course, is to walk.

img_6165.jpgI walked a lot, but the city is big, and sometimes to save time, but also to experiment, it’s interesting to get around in other ways. The second most economical way is finally the taxi. You can get there quite quickly and the price/kilometre ratio is excellent.

But you can also go by tuktuk. It’s more fun than the taxi and more expensive, but not very adapted to tall people. Your head touches the ceiling and you can’t see anything.

There are other choices:

– The bus

– the 2 subways, the BTS or Skytrain, which is the aerial subway, with lines from North to South, and the MRT, the underground subway. Both are very modern and are efficient and pleasant ways to travel, especially because they are air-conditioned. This is also the case for taxis img_6162.jpg Note that in both metros, you pay according to the station you want to get off at. Impossible to change your mind en route.

Finally, there is a line of boats that runs along the river, with regular stops like a bus. You can go up the city from south to north, and the reverse of course, on the west side of Bangkok.
