Battambang is a very big city in the north west of Cambodia almost as big as Siem Reap, which is much more touristic as Siem Reap is the gateway to the Angkor temples. I liked Battambang very much as it has a very special atmosphere that reminded me of Chang Mai, the big city in the north of Thailand. It’s a very quiet city with little traffic and where the people seem to take time to live. Holy, the owner of the Pomme hotel (the best hostel in Cambodia) says it’s a unique city in the world.8562570d-5d02-4542-ae1d-454be59788c1_1_105_c.jpg It’s a place where I spent only two days and where I really want to come back to discover other aspects of the city that I didn’t have time to know but also just to stroll in the streets.

I could have gone straight to Siem Reap because my time is limited in Cambodia but I was keen to go through Battambang to do the boat ride from Battambang to Siem Reap and it’s definitely a decision I don’t regret. It was one of the most beautiful days I spent during my trip f5ff45ff-d019-41d4-9a93-b400315efcd8_1_105_c.jpg7e091bca-c655-46b1-8921-4554b0744c26_1_105_c.jpg
